RE: Still Another Eternabond Question

No. I used mineral spirits to clean off dirt and scuff the old caulk so the eternabond bonded better.

Firefox 3 is better IMHO. Those thumbnails get annoying.

RE: Edisto Island SP

Yes. Some sites are tight, but it's location location location. Agree with the poster above about the overflow area, but sometimes you get stuck there for a day waiting for a beach site to open up. Best advice is just to get there early if you can't get a reservation, and I don't know if they take them; we always just show up and get lucky. Great beach, and you can canoe the estuary around the island too. Crabbing is decent, depending on the weather, and fishing. You can get fresh seafood to prepare yourself, or there's a few restaurants away from the state park. We always take our bicycles for cruising around the island. It's one of my favorite spots. :B

RE: best seafood in/around Charleston .S.C.

You can also buy fresh from vendors set up along the roadsides here and there. Save a bundle and make your own. :D

RE: Leak between Cab & Overhang on Class C

We had the same issue, in the same place. The only way I could solve it was to take clear silicone and using my finger I pressed as much into the seam as i could and them smoothed it out over both pieces. Not as pretty as I'd like but it hasn't leaked in two years.

RE: Launching a boat with a class C

My boat is a 17' pro bass style, and our C is 24'. It used to be a pain till we figured out this system. What we do is stick the butt end of a fishing pole into a seat on each side of the boat so that enough pole sticks out to see from the RV mirrors. At night we have used white bobbers or glow sticks on the pole ends for easier seeing. If needed I'll stand out and call direction, but using the poles, he can see to back down, and I can be in the boat ready to launch. We always use first gear, and only once have we needed to throw some gravel for traction on a very steep mossy ramp. You can also use oars, water skis, or a fishing net and the rear light stick instead of fishing poles. Hope this helps. :)

RE: Scissors Jacks

I second the bottle jack suggestion. That's what we use. Just make sure you position it on the frame so you don't poke a hole in the floor. :)

RE: new spare when replacing your 6 tires?

We did the same thing; kept the best one for the spare.

RE: GpS/Xm Radio Signals

I had to put my Sirius antenna out on the hood. I have a Gramin handheld GPS, and it works great when left up near the windshield on the dash. Hope this helps.

RE: Where to stay and what to do in Vicksburg?

You must visit the wreck of the Cairo; civil war ship. Also, it's been a few years since I was in Vicksburg, but the local historical society used to print a map where you could drive around and spot the remaining caves and hideouts where the Vicksburg residents hid during the war. I really enjoyed that.

RE: Holmes County Ohio

LOL oh yes Mt. Hope is only about 20 minutes from me. My mistake I forgot about the small Lehman's in Mt. Hope. The one in Kidron is the original, and was recently expanded to 40,000 square feet.

RE: Holmes County Ohio

The original Lehman's Hardware is in Kidron and an auction and flea market is there as well. Also in Kidron you can visit Gerber's Poultry and get fresh chicken fried or barbecued in a box lunch; yummy. And Yes, Winesburg Meats is THE best! :B OkieNewbie: Here's a favorite drive of mine. Take Rt.62 through Wilmot, Winesburg, and Berlin; Amish restaurants, shops, and Heini's Cheese. Continue west and catch Rt. 557 south to Charm where you can visit Keim Lumber. In Charm take C70 (county road 70) to 39/515 and Walnut Creek. Der Dutchman restaurant is Amish food served family style; quite famous. In Walnut Creek take Rt. 515 north to Rt. 62 where you started. There are many many roads around this area to cruise and see farms. A DeLorme Gazeteer can really help. Once you get to know your way around, don't be afraid to explore. The Amish sell handmade quilts, baskets, eggs and baked goods right out of their homes. Watch for signs along any of the roads. To see the Warther Museum (which I highly recommend too) take Rt. 39 east to Sugarcreek, another town with heavy Amish influence. There are several cheese houses in the area including Doughty Valley Cheese. Continue on 39, and stop at the Breitenbach Winery for some excellent fruit wines. Follow Rt.39 into Dover and watch for the signs to Warther's; very easy to find. Other things to see; The Wilderness Center in Wilmot; Brewster Cheese and the Brewster Railroad Museum; Secrest Arboretum in Wooster; Shreve Swamps and the Killbuck Wilderness area.

RE: Amish Country CG

I've never stayed there but I drive past it a lot. Looks like a nice, clean, campground. Be sure to check out Winesburg Meats; one of the best butchers around.

RE: Interior night lights

I got a 6" flourescent lite that runs on 4 AA batteries. Lowe's had em for around $6. I get about 8 hours of light on a set of batteries. I have one on the bathroom sink, one right inside the entry door, and one for each bed. They work great for reading in bed, looking in closets, or whatever. Keeps the kids from leaving the 12v ceiling lights on wasting battery power. :B

RE: Propane at 10,500' Will it Flow?

Been as high as 13700 and no propane problems. My fridge always runs on propane and it didn't cause a problem.

RE: Campgrounds along the New York Thruway (90)

There are service plazas all along I-90. We've spent the night in many of them with no problems, and it's quite a money saver. We really hate to pay for a campsite when it's just for sleep. :B

RE: Reflective Insulation Material

Use inside. I have it cut to fit all windows and the ceiling vents; velcro works perfect to hold in place. You'll be amazed at the difference in both summer and winter.

RE: Leveling a C class

We have a hydraulic bottle jack for lifting and carry a few blocks of wood to put under the tires or tripod stands to level. I have been thinking about getting two of the crank-style scissor jacks to try tho.
